Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: you reminded the recipient of your meeting, identified the desired role, and explained your suitability. The tone is generally appropriate for a business letter, although the opening 'Dear Manager' is a bit generic; using the person's name (if known) or a more professional salutation would be better. The ideas are relevant, though the development is slightly uneven. For instance, the mention of your degree and previous experience is good, but the letter ends abruptly mid-sentence, which leaves the final point about your suitability incomplete. To improve, ensure you fully develop your arguments and provide a complete, polished conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure, with each paragraph focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use some basic cohesive devices, such as 'As I have completed' and 'I already check', to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors and the incomplete final sentence. Paragraphing is present, which helps the reader navigate the text. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') to create a smoother transition between your professional background and your interest in the position.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message clearly. You use some relevant industry-specific terms like 'restaurant manager', 'supervisor', and 'employee benefits'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'specialied' (specialized), 'managment' (management), 'trainning' (training), and 'familier' (familiar). These errors do not impede communication, but they do suggest a need for more careful proofreading. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common professional terms and expanding your range of collocations to sound more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('as you owns' instead of 'own'), tense inconsistencies ('I already check' instead of 'I have already checked'), and missing articles. Additionally, the sentence 'I am having some work to do' is slightly unnatural in this context. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on verb tense consistency and basic sentence construction will significantly improve your accuracy.
