Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Mr, Smith,
I hope you are doing well. We had an interaction last week in plaza premium lounge at Delhi International airport. As you told me to contatct you, if I am interested in working with you.
I researched on your business and found that you have multiple waffle shops in my state and they all are doing well. As I am in marketing from last 5 years and running my own AI-based marketing agency. I can clearly notice that you need a strong marketing strategy to upscale your business in terms of presence and sales.
I would love to work with you as a 'Marketing Manager' because my skills in this field could be helpful for you. We can use social media ads and influencer marketing to boost your business. I also have an idea of making a smart phone application for your business where customers can collect points, make orders and reserve tables. I also have few more plans for your business.
Thank you for giving me a chance to work with such prestige business. I hope to hear back from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Rajveer singh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly identified the meeting context (Delhi airport lounge), specified your interest in a Marketing Manager role, and provided a logical justification for your suitability by highlighting your five years of experience and your AI-based marketing agency. The tone is appropriate for a professional follow-up. To reach a higher band, ensure that the opening is more formal; for example, 'Dear Mr. Smith' is correct, but the comma after 'Mr' is a punctuation error. Overall, the ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from the initial meeting to your professional background and finally to your specific proposals for the business. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'As I am' and 'I also have', to link your thoughts. However, the paragraphing could be more distinct, and the transition between the introduction and the body could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures feel slightly disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'marketing strategy', 'upscale', and 'influencer marketing' effectively. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'prestige business' (should be 'prestigious business') and 'making a smart phone application' (should be 'developing'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. Focusing on more sophisticated collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing would improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For instance, 'As you told me to contatct you, if I am interested...' is a sentence fragment. Other issues include 'I am in marketing from last 5 years' (should be 'have been in marketing for the last 5 years') and 'I also have few more plans' (should be 'a few more plans'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
