Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You successfully reminded Mike about where and when you met, stating that you sat next to him on the flight from Vancouver to Calgary by Flair Airlines. You also clearly identified the kind of job you are interested in by mentioning the position of manager. Furthermore, you explained why you would be suitable for the role by referring to your prior experience, responsibility, and good communication and time management skills. All parts of the prompt are addressed adequately, and the tone is appropriately friendly and professional for a general task letter. Therefore, this fulfills the criteria for a band 6.5 or 7.0, and we award a band 6.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is generally coherent and easy to follow, with a clear overall arrangement. You used paragraphing appropriately to separate different points, such as the introduction, the reminder of the meeting, the job preference, and your suitability. Cohesive devices like "To begin with," "Moving futher," and "Moreover" are utilized to structure the letter, although some transitions feel a bit mechanical. Referencing is mostly clear, though occasional spelling errors slightly disrupt the flow. Overall, the organization is logical and guides the reader smoothly through the message, earning a solid band 6.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting words related to employment and restaurants such as "opportunity," "positions," "chefs," and "managers." However, there are several noticeable spelling and capitalization errors throughout the text, including "lettrs," "setting" instead of sitting, "calegery" instead of Calgary, "Flaire," "futher," "differnt," "intersted," and "thigs." These lexical and spelling inaccuracies do not severely impede communication, as your meaning remains clear, but they prevent the writing from achieving a higher band. Because the vocabulary is sufficient for basic expression with some errors, a band 6.0 is appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as "I am writing this lettrs to remind you about the job opportunity that we talked about" and "Not only that i have experience in this field, i am really responsible as well." There are some grammatical and punctuation errors present, particularly with lowercase "i" instead of "I" in multiple instances, and minor structural awkwardness like "setting next to you in the flight." However, these errors rarely impede communication and the basic meaning is consistently clear. The control of grammar aligns well with the band 6.0 descriptors.
