IELTS Writing Task 1 question

During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.

Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter

• remind him when and where you met
• tell him what kind of job you are interested in
• say why you think you would be suitable for the job

Dear Mr. Anderson,

My name is Adam Gilbert, I had a chance to sit next to you on the plane while travelling to New York on 10th of September. You mentioned that you own a franchise of restaurants and that I can reach out to you for a possible job opportunity in one of your restaurants.

If you remember, I mentioned that I am a chef, so I was wondering if you have an open position for a chef in your prestigious chain of restaurants. I can cook Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisines. I also have expertise in creating fusion food, which as I understand is the unique selling point of your restaurants as well. I have about 10 years of experience working as a chef in The Lalit hotel where I was resposible for a team of 4 members. I am based out of New Delhi and that would be my preferred location, but I am willing to relocate if needed.

I am really grateful that you shared your contact details with me and took this time to read my letter. I would be eagerly waiting for a positive response.
