Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The candidate has successfully addressed all three bullet points required in the prompt. First, the writer reminds the businessman where and when they met by stating, 'It was my pleasure to talk to you during the journey from Europe to America.' Second, the candidate specifies the type of job they are interested in, mentioning the position of 'senior manager (Content Creation).' Finally, the writer explains why they are suitable by highlighting their professional background as a content creator with over six years of experience and their familiarity with new AI technology. The tone is appropriately semi-formal for a professional correspondence, and all ideas are clearly presented, earning a solid band score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter maintains a clear overall progression and logical organization. The writer opens with an appropriate greeting, transitions smoothly into the context of their previous meeting, and then details their career interests and qualifications. Paragraphing is used adequately to separate distinct ideas, such as the introduction of the meeting in the first paragraph, the job application in the second, and the follow-up details in the third. While cohesive devices are used, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or abrupt, such as starting the final paragraph with 'Moreover'. However, referencing and paragraphing remain clear throughout, making the letter easy to follow and coherent overall.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The candidate demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for a business-related letter, employing terms like 'professional content creator', 'managing qualities', and 'qualifications'. There are some minor lexical and collocational inaccuracies, such as 'experience background' instead of 'professional background' or 'experience', and 'content creator manager' instead of 'content creation manager'. Additionally, there are minor spelling and capitalization slips, such as 'carrers catalouge' and missing spaces after punctuation marks. Despite these errors, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended message clearly without impeding communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating a reasonable command of grammar. Examples of successful structures include conditional and relative ideas, such as 'I will be thankful to you if i can get a chance...' However, there are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. These include lowercase 'i', missing punctuation before conjunctions in compound sentences, and minor phrasing issues like 'if you required anymore information' instead of 'if you require any more information'. These errors do not impede communication, but they prevent the writing from achieving a higher band score due to a lack of consistent accuracy across complex structures.
