Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three required points: you remind the businessman that you met on a plane last Sunday, identify receptionist or hospitality work as your preference, and give customer-service experience as a reason you are suitable. The purpose is clear and the details are relevant. However, the job preference is not fully precise—“receptionist, hospitality” leaves it unclear whether you mean one role or several—and your suitability claim would be stronger with a specific example of how you handled customers. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Add a little relevant detail, such as a brief example of your experience and the role you are applying for, to make the letter more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter follows a generally sensible order: you explain who you are and where you met, refer to the job discussion, state your preferred work, and give a reason for your suitability. The greeting and sign-off also fit a formal enquiry. Some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear, however. For example, “Also, you shared your email to me related to job opportunity” is awkwardly connected to the previous sentence, and “the above mentioned job positions” is difficult to follow because the role has not been clearly specified. Use separate paragraphs for the meeting and job interest, then your qualifications, and make references such as “this role” explicit. This would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “job opportunity,” “receptionist,” “customer service,” and “good service,” so the reader can understand your main message. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “vacany,” “restaurtant,” “mannared,” and “providiong” are noticeable. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “I have a keen interest in post of receptionist, hospitality” and “update me soon.” Choose more precise expressions, for example, “I am interested in a receptionist position” and “I would appreciate hearing from you.” Careful proofreading and a wider range of professional employment vocabulary would make the letter more fluent and appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You communicate the main ideas using a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, such as “I think that the above mentioned job positions are suitable for me because…”. Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical and punctuation errors are present. In “we met , last sunday,” the comma is misplaced, and “I sat next to you in the flight” uses an incorrect preposition within the sentence pattern. The phrase “I have a 3 years of experience” also has an article and number-form problem; write “I have three years of experience.” There are inconsistent spaces after commas and sentence boundaries. Practise accurate articles, prepositions, and punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
