Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you remind Mathew that you met on a flight to Calgary, identify your interest in a restaurant manager position, and give relevant reasons for your suitability, including your project-management degree and previous managerial experience in India. The purpose of contacting him is clear. However, some points are less fully developed: the meeting reminder could be more precise, and your experience and skills would be more persuasive if you explained how they would help his restaurant. The final request for a chance is understandable, but the letter would benefit from a more direct, professional closing that clearly asks about the vacancy and next steps.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the meeting, to the job you want, and then to your qualifications. Paragraphing helps separate these main stages, and phrases such as “As recently” and “I mentioned before” attempt to connect ideas. However, some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “As in this vast growing I want to be progessed in my life,” which interrupts the progression. The qualifications are also crowded into one paragraph, while the final request appears in capital letters and feels disconnected from the preceding explanation. Use clearer transitions and group related details so the reader can follow your case smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “project management,” “job opening,” “manager,” and “full time,” so the reader can understand your main purpose. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as naming Excel and QuickBooks. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “restuarant,” “oppurtunity,” “begineer,” and “progessed.” Some phrases are unnatural or unclear, such as “make paystubs for working employess” and “in this vast growing.” These issues make parts of the letter harder to interpret and limit the precision of your vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and choose standard professional expressions for describing your experience and skills.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the main message is generally understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “I hope you remember me we met in plane” joins two clauses without suitable punctuation or a linking word; “You suggested me for job” has an incomplete grammatical pattern; and “I have also work as manager” uses an incorrect verb form. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially in “i HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.” Use complete sentences, check verb forms and articles, and punctuate longer ideas carefully. These corrections would make your meaning clearer while preserving the range you are attempting.
