Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you identify the flight from Dhaka to Chittagong last month, express interest in restaurant work, and give reasons for your suitability, including hotel experience, communication skills and your degree. The purpose of contacting the businessman is clear, and the tone is generally polite. However, the job you want is not specified precisely: “this type of job” and “a good position” leave the reader unsure whether you seek a service, kitchen or other role. Your reasons are also only briefly stated; explain what you did in the hotel and how it prepares you for the position. Developing these details would make the letter more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: it opens with the purpose, recalls the meeting, describes your interest and qualifications, and closes with a request. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “During this discussion” and “So” connect ideas. Some links are mechanical or unclear, however. The opening repeats the reminder before giving the meeting details, while “And also” begins a sentence that would connect more smoothly to the previous point. The reference in “this type of job” is also vague. State the role directly and use clearer transitions between your experience, skills and suitability to create more natural progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “practical experience,” “communication” and “hospitality,” so the reader can understand your general aim. However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors reduce accuracy: “remainding,” “resturents,” “hospilality,” and “helping boy” are not appropriate forms. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “job facilities” and “expert in communication.” Choose precise terms for the role and describe your previous duties using standard workplace vocabulary. More accurate spelling and natural collocations would make the letter sound more professional and help you express your qualifications with greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, such as “During this discussion, you kindly suggested that I contact you if I was interested…,” and the main message remains understandable. However, some errors in verb forms, articles, agreement and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “I sat next to you, and discuss” should keep the past tense, and “I was interested job” needs a grammatical pattern such as “interested in a job.” “I am a quite person” also has an incorrect article placement, while “I would be grateful if you considered me to a good position” uses an unsuitable construction. Practise accurate past-tense narration and standard patterns for expressing interest and making requests.
