Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The letter addresses all three required points clearly: you identify the flight from New York to Austin on October 27, specify that you want a restaurant-manager position, and support your suitability with six years of experience, an award, and a sales increase. These concrete details make your application persuasive and keep the purpose clear. The explanation of your interest in Chuy’s also adds relevant context. To make the response more fully developed, clarify the connection between the businessman’s restaurant chain and Chuy’s, and briefly explain how your management experience or customer feedback would benefit his business. The opening and closing are appropriate, though using the businessman’s name, if remembered, would make the letter more personal.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information is arranged in a clear progression: you establish the meeting, explain your interest in the restaurant, present your qualifications, and close by offering further information and a meeting. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and phrases such as “I am reaching out in regard to” and “Please let me know” help signal the letter’s purpose and next step. Some links between ideas could be smoother. For example, the paragraph about the chain’s locations and your liking for Chuy’s shifts quickly into the job request; a clearer transition would show how this interest relates to the position. The final availability detail is useful, but specifying a date would make the proposed meeting easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a job enquiry, including “employee of the year,” “raised the sales,” “returning customers,” and “references.” These details communicate relevant experience and help the letter sound purposeful. There are, however, some spelling errors, including “favourate,” “resturants,” and “backgroud,” and a few phrases are not quite natural or precise, such as “know you and your business” and “regular returning customers.” The repeated use of “job” and “restaurant” also limits variety somewhat. Proofreading spelling and choosing more idiomatic business expressions would make your vocabulary more accurate and polished while preserving the clear meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter includes both simple statements and longer sentences, such as the sentence describing your sales results and customer feedback. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors are present. In “we meet on Oct 27,” the past-tense form is needed; “for past 6 year” also needs an article and a plural noun. The phrase “Your chain of restaurants of are available” contains an unnecessary preposition and disrupts the sentence structure. There are also punctuation and spacing issues, including the space before the comma after “6%.” Review past-tense forms, articles, plurals, and sentence editing. Greater accuracy in these areas would make the application read more smoothly.
