Student answer (Band 5.5)
As the population of world is rapidly rising the need of homes are also increased. In my point of view both are directly proportional. Nevertheless of being higher demand in housing the country side should be demolished for construction of homes.
As the metropolitan cities the high demad of houses are fulfilled by vertically expanding the city by construction of high rise buildings, which provides more apartments in less area and accommodation can be provided to Many families without effecting the country side.
The country side is not just the place around the city, It's the habitat for birds and the trees which play's an important role in providing fresh air and controlling pollution. Birds take shelter in trees and its there home. As we human have right to live and protect our home, I as a nature lover strongly believe that country side should be protected and not be demolished just for housing societies.
The country sides shouldn't be transformed into housing societies leaving no place for birds and different species to survive. There is and alternative way which is high-rise buildings which can contribute in providing the shelter to increased population with different facilities under one roof like gym, health care and restaurants on the top floor for entertainment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you believe the countryside should be protected, and you offer relevant reasons, including its role as a habitat and in providing fresh air. The suggestion of building high-rise apartments also responds to the need for more homes. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the benefits of vertical construction are asserted rather than supported with a specific example, and the opening claim that population growth and housing demand are “directly proportional” is not explained. The response also contains 211 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250. Develop each reason with explanation or an example, and add a fuller conclusion to address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: it introduces the issue, presents high-rise buildings as an alternative, explains the value of countryside, and returns to that alternative. This gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, progression between points is not always clear. The opening paragraph moves quickly from population growth to a confusing claim about demolishing the countryside, which conflicts with your stated position. Linking phrases such as “Nevertheless” do not accurately express the relationship between the ideas, and the final paragraph repeats points about protecting wildlife and high-rise housing rather than advancing the argument. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph’s reason to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “population,” “accommodation,” “habitat,” “pollution,” and “high-rise buildings.” These terms help communicate your main ideas, and phrases such as “under one roof” show an attempt to use more varied expression. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear: “the country side should be demolished” appears to mean that countryside should not be built over, while “effecting the country side” is not the intended expression. Spelling errors such as “demad” and “there” for “their” also reduce accuracy. Build precision by checking collocations and spelling, and vary repeated phrases such as “country side” and “housing societies.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style contrast in “As the metropolitan cities…” and a relative clause in “trees which play’s an important role.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer sentences. For example, “the need of homes are also increased” has problems with agreement and verb form, while “As the population of world is rapidly rising” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “Nevertheless of being higher demand” is not grammatically formed, and punctuation around “It's” and the comma splice in “Birds take shelter in trees and its there home” affect readability. Practise accurate clauses, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
