Student answer (Band 5.5)

i believe protecting the countryside is more important, but building new homes also neccessary. Governments should find a balance between two.

To start with protecting the countryside, the first and foremost reason is that protect wildlife and natural habitats. To explain it more, everyone have equal right to survive if open spaces uses for building new houses then it might impact on some natural speices along with increse the air pollution as welll, because if they cut the trees then it increase pollution and disease such as asthma. Secondly, countryside are also so beautiful becuse of natural trees, flowers, and other natural birds so it will finish if new homes will manufacuting in the countryside. Another example is that if large farmland converted into homes then it may effect the farming as well and reduce the food production. As a result, it is not good idea to building a new homes if someone life in danger.

On the other hand, due to increasing population new homes also basic need for everyone and due to shortage of homes the prices of rental places also increse rapidly for example in Mumbai there is shortage of living places and people survive on very narrow places along with higher rents.futhermore, if new homes will build then employement also will provide the people and its also good for people who are unemployed.

there is one solution governemnt should impose some laws and regulations to make new houses in urban areas such as they should not whole place hey should use little part and make some partments or underground houses to solve this problem and loking forward another possibel solution as well which are enviroment friendly.

To conclude, for living houses are important and basic need of every human and countryside also should be protected so governemnt shoukld make some good plans as well develop some other good ideas so both are problems solved by just with good planning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: protecting the countryside matters more, although housing is also necessary. You address both sides and offer relevant reasons, including wildlife, pollution, farmland, housing costs in Mumbai, and employment. The proposed balance also responds to the issue. This meets the task well, and the environmental and housing points show some development. However, several ideas remain general or are not fully explained: for example, the claim that building homes will provide employment is not supported with detail, and the suggestion of urban or underground housing is difficult to follow. To strengthen the response further, explain how your proposed planning rules would protect nature while meeting housing demand, and develop one or two examples more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on protecting the countryside, a paragraph on housing needs, a proposed solution, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To start with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. However, connections are sometimes mechanical, and some references are unclear. In “there is one solution,” it is not immediately clear which problem the solution addresses; the sentence about using only part of urban areas and building underground is also difficult to track. The conclusion repeats the need for both housing and protection rather than clearly synthesising the argument. Use clearer links between each reason and your position, and organise the solution into a more precise paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “natural habitats,” “air pollution,” “food production,” “shortage,” and “rental places.” There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as “laws and regulations” and “environment friendly.” However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less fluent, including “natural speices,” “employement,” “make new houses,” and “natural birds.” Some wording is also imprecise, such as “everyone have equal right to survive” and “people survive on very narrow places.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for housing and conservation, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, using clauses with “if,” “because,” and “as a result” to explain consequences. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across sentence structures and often make individual points harder to read. Examples include “everyone have equal right,” “if open spaces uses,” and “it increase pollution,” where agreement and verb forms are not controlled. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in phrases such as “a new homes” and “a basic need.” Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear punctuation, particularly in the proposed solution. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and conditional forms, and divide complex ideas into shorter, complete sentences.
