Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is true that nowadays population is increasing day by day and their basic needs like food ,shelter and water are also increasing at an alarming rate. However, some believe that for this we need new houses and there is no much space in urban areas for building new houses so only solution is to use rural space but some says that its important to keep countryside areas more green with less houses. In this essay i will discuss why its important to protect the natural places while fulfilling the needs of housing among growing population.

There are many reasons why some people believe that its very essential to preserve the green areas in villages. The prominent reason is that in cities because of more pollution people are already diagnosed with many diseases like arthritis, lungs issue, allergies headache etcetera related to issues like polluted air, water and land.So they sometimes go to rural areas to refreshen their minds and enjoy the beauty of nature. Moreover, some species like sparrows are almost at the danger of extinction because of industrial setup.Hence, people only see few of them in rural areas and every species plays a vital role in preservation of ecosystem.

In my opinion, i like to say that its really very important to fullfill the basic needs of people but meanwhile people also have the responsibility to protect the environment and preserve them at any cost.To begin with ,if individuals want to built more houses then, they also have the responsibility to grow more trees and plants, which will help to maintain the balance.Furthermore, they can also use natural resources to use the facilities installed in these houses like use solar energy to run the appliances.

In conclusion, I would. like to reiterate that its important to fulfill the necessities of growing population but people also have to take care of the natural places by not polluting the environment and grow more and more trees.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the central issue and give a position that combines meeting housing needs with protecting nature: “people also have the responsibility to protect the environment.” The paragraph about pollution and wildlife provides relevant reasons for preserving rural areas. However, the opinion is not fully decisive: the introduction says you will discuss protection, while the body mainly proposes planting trees and using solar energy rather than explaining whether countryside building should be allowed, limited, or avoided. The housing need itself is also only briefly acknowledged, and the examples are general rather than developed. State your position clearly from the outset, then explain how your proposed balance would work—for example, where building could occur and what protections should be required.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons to protect rural areas, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “To begin with,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose. The first body paragraph moves from urban illness to visits to rural areas and then to sparrows without clearly connecting these points to the question of building homes. Some transitions, including “Hence,” do not show a precise logical relationship, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Make each paragraph develop one main point and use clearer links to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “pollution,” “extinction,” “ecosystem,” “natural resources,” and “solar energy,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “preserve the green areas” and “maintain the balance.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “refreshen their minds,” “industrial setup,” “lungs issue,” and “use natural resources to use the facilities.” Spelling and word-form slips such as “fullfill” and “built” also reduce precision. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for instance, explain that rural areas offer “a chance to relax” and that solar power can “supply electricity to homes.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if individuals want to built more houses then…” and a reason clause beginning “because of more pollution.” This shows some range, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “want to built” instead of “want to build,” “some says” instead of “some say,” and “preserve them” where the reference to “the environment” requires a different pronoun. Several long sentences are joined without adequate punctuation, particularly in the introduction. Review verb patterns and agreement, and divide long sentences into clearer units; accurate punctuation and a wider range of controlled complex sentences would improve clarity.
