Student answer (Band 6.5)

Many individual believe that people should construct new houses near rural areas, while others argue that the we should not build any new homes there as these places still has wildlife and woodland that should be protected all the time. I am strongly agree that we should keep backcountry areas safe and secure. This essay will discuss the reasons of these statements in the upcoming paragraphs.

On the one hand, there are many reasons to build new houses and buildings near countryside because buying land over there is less expensive than buying in cities that make it more affordable. Moreover, people who live in rural areas get more good environment in the comparison to develop areas because the vehicular emission is less which leads to good air quality and noise pollution, as a result it improves individual health.

On the other hand, by building new houses in countryside can affect the nature as people can disturb the balance by building parks and roads near or in the woodland. Additionally, this can also have bad impact on wildlife because people can crate trails which imbalances their life which cause many problems for wild animals. For example, they will fear to move one to other place because vehicles will run on highspeed on highways they can hit any animal ehi are cro

In my opinion, people should construct the houses and building at a far locations from the woodland as it can affect the wildlife as well as authorities should impose strict laws for building the roads near forest or in forest area.

In conclusion, although building houses in countryside can improves individual overall lifestyle and health but also cause many problems for wild animals. By imposing rules and regulations for the protection of the wildlife and countryside nature can help to solve this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified the core conflict between housing needs and environmental protection. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the benefits of rural living is brief, and the example provided in the third paragraph is incomplete and trails off ('ehi are cro'). To reach a higher band, ensure that every point is fully explained with coherent examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive of the body paragraphs. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of argumentation needs improvement to move beyond a basic level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward sentence structures. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat repetitive and lacks the flexibility required for higher bands. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring sentences connect more naturally would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'vehicular emission', 'wildlife', and 'woodland'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'get more good environment' and 'crate trails' (likely a misspelling of 'create'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple, repetitive language. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your spelling is accurate, as errors like 'crate' instead of 'create' detract from the professional tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Many individual believe', 'these places still has'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing. Some sentences are grammatically incomplete or contain fragments, particularly in the third paragraph. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain errors that require the reader to re-read to understand the intended meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with correct punctuation and logical flow.
