Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people opines that it is very crucial to save the forests, rivers and landscapes while other believe that if it is necessary we can build houses there. I am going to provide my opinion on this with my own personal experience in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with I must say that currently housing is one of the most important issue in most of the regions. Every year population increases and they need to build new residential spaces as well but along with that saving nature is also very important. Just because housing is our need we can not neglect that saving nature is on the list as well.
So, In my opinion I think we should try to avoid using the countryside areas to build the houses. I have my own experience recently I was working with a construction company they build houses and there a tragedy happen last year. This new house we were building it was on the side of river near the forest although we did have permission and all the government paper work was very clear and when we reach at site we notice that two deer were dead on stie because there was heavy storm and due to that our one wide sheet has been broken which caused the death of those poor animals.
Honestly, then few people in neighbourhood also complains about it then our project has been shout down for whole 3 weeks. I am here not only justifying this because of my project but I actually believe that saving nature and wildlife is our priority as a human being. So, as much as we can we should avoid using those places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against building in the countryside. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide a personal anecdote about a construction project, the argument lacks a broader perspective on the socio-economic implications of housing shortages versus environmental conservation. The ideas are relevant but could be extended further to explore why alternative solutions (like urban densification) might be preferable. The conclusion is clear, but the overall argument remains somewhat narrow in scope, which prevents it from reaching a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition 'So, In my opinion' is informal and slightly awkward. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is generally logical, but the connection between the personal anecdote and the broader argument about environmental protection could be smoother. More varied linking words and better referencing would improve the flow and coherence of the essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'important issue', 'build houses', and 'saving nature'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'shout down' (should be 'shut down') and 'stie' (spelling error for 'site'). To improve, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning, sustainability, and environmental impact, and focus on more precise collocations to convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people opines', 'other believe'), tense inconsistencies ('they build houses and there a tragedy happen'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors suggests a lack of control over more complex structures. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb endings and tense consistency will significantly improve your score.
