Student answer (Band 5.5)
In contemporary era, population is growing day by day . Some masses believe that countryside space should be used to build new house while others think that countryside space should not be used . In this essay, I will discuss both point of view and give my opinion in upcoming paragraphs
If we used countryside area to construct new house for people . The first and foremost point is that cities population will be decreased when people move to country side area. For example, according to the research show that 90% population will be overcome in big cities masses move to countryside area.
On the flip side , we will destroy the natural environment when we build new house while in countryside through this less tree means less oxygen which directly affects the humans well being . Moreover, fresh air also reduces if natural environment not exist in countryside and agricultural land area will be decreased so it will be danger for humans and animals for example , food chain is destroyed because we damage the natural environment through is space of rural area not be used to construct new house .
In conclusion, I think that countryside not used to build the new house as damage the natural environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you have addressed the prompt by presenting both sides and a personal opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail. The example provided regarding '90% population' is vague and lacks a clear source or logical explanation. To improve, you must expand your points with more specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the phrase 'through this less tree means less oxygen'. The progression of ideas is somewhat disjointed, and the transitions between paragraphs could be smoother. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'big cities' and 'new house'. There are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'some masses believe' and 'it will be danger'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and environmental conservation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('research show that'), article usage ('in countryside area'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using articles correctly before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
