Student answer (Band 6.0)
As of now in many places, there is a need of more homes for construction. There is only place to build new homes is only at country side. And some people believe that it is more important to protect the country side and not build new homes there as of now we will be discussing about this topic.
Firstly, According to my opinion right now we don't have enough place to build a new homes in the city. So, the government is planning to construct in the countryside. In some ways it is correct but in some ways it is not that good the people who already get a habit to live in the city. Here are some examples they are as follows:
The city is fully developed and the people who live in the city have lot of jobs that they can easily find.
Moreover if they live here their transportation time reduces.
Secondly, If they construct the buildings at countryside they will loose all of the above mentioned things and also they will spoil the weather conditions by of the countryside village with pollution. So, better to avoid such things please don't construct buildings.
In addition to the young people who is also known as youth or Generation Z people will not get better things to explore themselves. And also you won't get better education for students.
To conclude, I would suggest do not build the new homes in the countryside but also the government can construct the new buildings by expanding the city.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing an opinion, but the development of ideas is limited. While you identify the conflict between housing needs and environmental protection, the arguments are brief and lack depth. For example, the point about 'transportation time' is mentioned but not explained in relation to the countryside. The conclusion offers a suggestion to expand the city, which is a relevant alternative, but the overall position could be more clearly articulated throughout the essay. To improve, ensure each paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by a detailed explanation and a concrete example to support your viewpoint.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'In addition'). There are instances where the logical flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject of the sentences. To achieve a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your sentences flow naturally from one to the next without relying on simple list-like transitions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You rely on simple terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'things', which limits the precision of your argument. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'loose' instead of 'lose' and 'get a habit' instead of 'are accustomed to'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban planning and environmental issues. Using more precise adjectives and nouns will help you convey your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication, moving beyond a limited range of everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'young people who is'), article usage (e.g., 'at country side'), and awkward sentence construction. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and preposition usage. Practicing the correct use of relative clauses and complex sentence structures will also help improve your grammatical range and accuracy.
