Student answer (Band 7.0)
Nowadays, housing demand is on its peak because of tourism and globalization. So, it is hard for the government to accommodate people within cities only, automatically, countryside areas are targeted for construction of houses. Most of individuals believe that protection of the countryside areas is essential and formation of new houses should be retained. I totally agree with the opinion, as highly vulnerable areas need to be protected by banning the new constructions.
To begin with, protection of the natural resources is important for living beings. As, deforestation leads to soil erosion and results the destruction of multiple habitats of the wild creatures. So, building the new houses in remote areas not only impact the environment by increasing temperature level but also harm the wild life by destroying their homes. For instance, a survey done by the Oxford university, for last few years, number of houses build in London, especially in outskirt areas, changed the weather of the area at its peak level and many animal habitats got ruined that also impacted their reproduction cycle.
Moreover, It is important to provide homes to people. So, it is the responsibility of the government to build more and more skyscrapers in the cities. So, that space could be utilize properly. Automatically it will be a win-win situation for both environment and folks as well. Furthermore, higher authorities should motivate individuals for housing in shared apartments, instead of buying on apartment for each, through the campaigns, TV shows or news by spreading awareness about the consequences of cutting forests.
To conclude, I totally agree with the view that construction of new projects at countryside must be banned. Government should make strict laws against it as well as find other alternatives for housing the people, so that results are beneficial for long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for protecting the countryside, such as environmental impact and habitat loss, and suggested alternatives like high-density urban development. The ideas are generally well-developed, although some points, such as the specific reference to an Oxford University survey, lack detail or clarity in their application. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more precisely linked to the argument and avoid minor over-generalisations regarding the impact of construction on weather patterns.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'So' at the start of sentences. Additionally, the referencing in the second paragraph is a bit clunky. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother flow between sentences would help elevate this score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vulnerable areas', 'deforestation', and 'reproduction cycle'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'housing demand is on its peak' (should be 'at its peak') and 'formation of new houses' (should be 'construction of new houses'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your range of topic-specific collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('the Oxford university'), subject-verb agreement ('number of houses build' should be 'built'), and awkward phrasing ('space could be utilize' should be 'utilised'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on proofreading for verb forms and consistent use of articles, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
