Student answer (Band 6.5)

In the recent days, it has been observed that there is ongoing demand for building new homes for people but the space is available is in countryside. It is surged that some residents believe that protecting the countryside is more essential than to build new homes. I completely agree with the statement that it is our pivotal role as a citizen to protect the countryside from new constructions. For instance, deforestation has been caused by the new development resulting in loss of habitat which causes the accidents on roads.

Firstly, Government should make the rule for its citizens to control the population which can contribute little not to new build new building developments. People will have efficient space to accommodate in cities. This can be explained as officials of states should amend the laws to birth two children for each couple.

Secondly, keeping the countryside environmentally friendly to produce organic food for the people for their good health and livelihood. For example, one should protect the nature from human disaster.

However, it has always shown that if we protect and help nature, the nature will protect us from natural disasters. Lastly, citizens should opt the apartment buildings in cities rather than individual homes as more public is coming to the cities in search of work.

Furthermore, government should develop the countryside and create the more job opportunities available for the people which can avoid them coming into the cities. It will not cause the problem for the workers to build the new building in cities.

In conclusion, both side of the country should develop and it should provides the necessary resources to its people through jobs and education.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the suggestion to control population growth via birth laws is a significant leap that lacks a direct logical connection to the housing crisis in the countryside. While the essay covers the main points, the arguments are often brief and lack sufficient supporting evidence or depth. The conclusion is also slightly disjointed, as it introduces new ideas about government development rather than summarizing the main points presented. To improve, focus on expanding each supporting point with more relevant, logical examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'However, it has always shown that...' is grammatically awkward and does not effectively link the preceding paragraph to the next. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'both side of the country', which is vague. While there is a logical progression of ideas, the flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing, making the overall cohesion feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'It is surged that' instead of 'It is suggested that', and 'more public is coming' instead of 'more people are moving'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'human disaster' or 'new build new building developments'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors in word choice occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the content.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include incorrect article usage ('the space is available is in countryside'), subject-verb agreement ('it should provides'), and awkward sentence construction ('the only space available for building them is in the countryside' vs 'the space is available is in countryside'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar structures occasionally impedes the flow of reading. To reach a higher band, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing errors in articles and verb forms.
