Student answer (Band 6.0)

Due to the growth of population in this world, numerous individuals need to have place to make new homes for them to live, however, remote areas are the solely solution for them to support their living and build houses. There are some counterargument that countryside need assistance for protection instead of damaging it more by building new apartments. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I will share my view points regarding this phenomenon.

To commence with, there are a myriad of people who believe that countryside is the only space available for them to build new houses for the over development of population. As per I thinking, it is not an effective remedy to handle this problem. If we suppose that individuals begin to build modern homes by demolishing remote areas then this trend could cause detrimental effects. To elaborate it, if people destroy places from where food resources are coming such as vegetables, fruits, wheat, rice and many more, will consequently make shortage of food. In addition, some animals will also lost their habitat if people continuously forwarding to countryside areas. Therefore, it is essential to protect these places.

Furthermore, there are a number of other solutions which individuals could take to mitigate this issue. The government should give support to their citizens and build some high-rise apartments in the towns for people who are homeless and finding space for homes instead of letting them go to countryside. Moreover, there is also need to put some restrictions on giving birth. For example, The government should impose a law that people can only give birth to two child that all, otherwise, they will have to face serious action and fines.

In conclusion, although there is not any deny that there is need of new homes for people are homeless, however, the government can take some other steps instead of destroying countryside.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against building in the countryside. The main ideas, such as the loss of agricultural land and habitat destruction, are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. The suggestion regarding population control is a bit tangential to the core issue of housing location and lacks depth. While the position is consistent, the arguments could be more thoroughly extended with more specific examples or nuanced reasoning to reach a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed, but the development of ideas remains somewhat superficial.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are slightly awkward, which occasionally impacts the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion, providing a coherent structure to the overall response.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'detrimental effects' and 'mitigate', which is positive. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'solely solution' instead of 'sole solution', 'over development of population' instead of 'overpopulation', and 'continuously forwarding to' instead of 'encroaching upon'. These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more precise word usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'there are some counterargument' (subject-verb agreement), 'As per I thinking' (incorrect phrasing), 'some animals will also lost' (incorrect verb form), and 'there is not any deny' (incorrect structure). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these grammatical slips prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student shows an attempt at complex structures, but control over them is inconsistent.
