Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, new homes are needed, but the only space available for building is in the countryside. This has become an increasingly important issue as some people believe it is more improtant to protect the countryside ranther than building new houses. This essay will discuss about how to protect the countryside and is it really necessary to build more houses in countryside, and instead of that we could contruct apartments in urban area. And I totally agree that building new homes in the countryside is not a sensible idea.
To begin with, building new houses in countryside can lead in destroying the wildlifes habitats. More often along with this there are more people who would migrate their to start their own business, which would increase the population, and would eventually increase more huge infrastructures. This is because when people travel from one country to another and plans to stay permanently would lead to have a significant cause. For example, students migrating from their home country to other country to have a better life. This at end increases the demand to build more houses, which eventually creates a second thought of building new houses.
On the other hand, I believe that instead building new homes in the countryside would eventually make the citizens to move there. And most of the immigrants would stay in the urban area rather than moving to countryside, even though if it is expensive. In addition, top high paying jobs will start hiring. But there will no people with those specific skills. For example, teachers are needed for schools which are buildt in the countryside which is time consuming and would lead the childrens to stay in urban area. Where parents would stay far from them, which is not possible. Instead of that building highrise apartments in urban areas would be alot more resonable, which eventually keeps the econony stable.
In conclusion, instead of building houses in the countryside would disturb both teh wildlife and the economy of the country, Instead of that building town houses or highrise apartments will be a better idea. Overall, I believe that new buildings needs to be contructed in the urban area can lead to have a stable economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout, arguing against building in the countryside. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The second paragraph attempts to link migration to housing demand but becomes confused, mentioning students and international travel in a way that does not clearly support the main argument. The third paragraph introduces the idea of urban high-rise living as a solution, which is relevant, but the reasoning regarding teachers and children is somewhat illogical and difficult to follow. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments lack the depth and logical flow required for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'More often along with this' is awkward. Furthermore, the internal logic within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by unclear referencing and disjointed sentences. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by these lapses, making the reader work harder to follow the argument. Paragraphing is present, but the logical flow between and within paragraphs needs more refinement.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several spelling errors, such as 'improtant', 'ranther', 'contruct', 'buildt', 'teh', and 'econony'. Additionally, there are word choice issues, such as 'increase more huge infrastructures' and 'make the citizens to move there'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequent errors and limited variety of vocabulary prevent the response from reaching a higher band. The student relies on basic phrasing and struggles with collocations, which limits the ability to express complex ideas fluently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('new buildings needs to be contructed'), incorrect preposition usage ('lead in destroying'), and awkward sentence construction ('This at end increases the demand'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar is noticeable. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur often enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures, keeping the score in the mid-range.
