Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this contemporary era there is a prevailing notion where it is argued that in numerous of the places new homes are needed however , the only place for engineers is left is a urban areas , many individuals it is essential to keep urban areas . I will discuss points and give my opinion in the upcoming paragraphs.
To start with, in numerous of the countryside areas there are very few people are living and is is hard for them because they have to travel many hours to travel to the countryside areas . For example , there are people from the countryside areas who work in the city factories have to face a lot of challenges to reach at their job. So it will be easy for them they will find a job near to their houses if houses were made in country side area because many restaurants , shops , malls are opening there.
On the other hand, if builders will be make houses in the country side area they will cut the trees and reduce natural sources which are beneficial for daily life. For example, there are many trees which are very less on the earth if all the houses will be build on the urban areas they will disappear totally .
In conclusion , I think that we have to save urban areas and build the houses to other areas near cities because country side areas are the huge sources of oxygen and home to animals .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. The introduction is unclear, as it seems to confuse 'urban' and 'countryside' terminology, making it difficult to identify your clear position. While you provide reasons for both sides, the arguments are under-developed. For instance, the point about people traveling to the city is relevant, but the explanation regarding 'malls' opening in the countryside is not well-supported. To improve, ensure your position is clearly stated in the introduction and that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained argument with a clear link to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by confusing phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. Transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or missing, making the flow feel disjointed. For example, the transition 'On the other hand' is used, but the subsequent argument about trees and natural sources is somewhat repetitive and lacks a strong connection to the previous paragraph. Improving the use of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' would help guide the reader more effectively through your arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are instances of word-choice errors that impede clarity, such as 'engineers is left' (likely meaning 'land is left') and 'natural sources' (likely meaning 'natural resources'). You rely on simple phrasing, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to urban planning and environmental conservation. Avoid repeating the same phrases like 'countryside areas' and 'urban areas' and try to incorporate synonyms or more descriptive language to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'there are very few people are living', and sentence structure, such as 'if builders will be make houses'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and checking for correct verb tenses. Proofreading for these common errors will significantly improve the readability of your work.
