Student answer (Band 6.0)

making shelters for individuals are required in plenty of areas, however for making them preferable location is village. Ample of people opine that outskirt area needs to be protected by not allowing to build houses there. Nevertheless, I agree with this sentiment at some point but new homes can also helpful to modernize villages.

To commence with, no doubt many places required new houses for better lifestyle or to provide enough space to people have not had a home, whereas countryside is not only the preferable place for building new homes. Because , villages are the only place from farmers come, and they grow crops, vegetables and other eatable resources, so if government would have decided to make houses their, individuals will suffer from this. Hence, it ruined the simplicity of the countryside.

Whereas, countryside area do not have appeal as city site has, so to provide a facility to the residence. it is necessary to build new houses. For example so many people imagined to have a house or if government will going to build them in village, it not only enhance the availability of sources in village but also individuals who do not have home, they might have a chance to turn their dream to reality.

To sum up, building new houses is important to give people more space to live , its better to have a house in village to live peaceful life , however just for making houses it does not mean to ruin the land from people can earn money and supply food worldwide, less land availability definitely lower the accessibility of natural things.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a position throughout, though the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. You acknowledge the need for housing while highlighting the importance of protecting agricultural land. However, the arguments are occasionally repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the second paragraph mentions the importance of farmers but does not fully explore the long-term consequences of urban sprawl versus the immediate need for housing. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with specific examples or logical consequences rather than just stating the idea. The conclusion is a bit contradictory, as it attempts to balance both sides but ends on a slightly confusing note regarding land accessibility.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Whereas', and 'To sum up' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as using 'Whereas' to start a paragraph that introduces a new point rather than a contrast. Additionally, some sentences are linked awkwardly, such as 'Because , villages are the only place from farmers come', which disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents will help improve the overall logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'making shelters', 'plenty of areas', and 'eatable resources'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'outskirt area' (should be 'outskirts' or 'rural areas') and 'availability of sources' (likely meant 'resources'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning, environmental conservation, and socio-economic development. Avoid repetitive phrasing and focus on using words that are more contextually appropriate for a formal essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('countryside area do not have'), incorrect verb tenses ('if government will going to build'), and awkward phrasing ('from people can earn money'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and spacing around punctuation marks. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
