Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is indeed true that people are migrating towords cities. However there are limited space available to accomodate overcrowding so, construction space for new houses are only available in the rural areas of town. A number of people argue that it is crucial to preserve the farmland instead of making new buildings. I strongly agree with this statment. My opinion will be justified in the following paragraphs.
Discussing my opinion, the foremost one I shall put forward is that the country has played vital role in field of agriculture and farming. In rural community
Many people depend on farming, larger area has occupied for spices production. Therefore construction on the land may affect their daily earnings. Furthermore, backcountry can offers fresh air and quiet atmosphere. So many people like to stay there for several days especially for enjoying good air and explore traditional culture away from busy citylife.
Additionally, making a new buildings at in the rural area can increase the global warming effects. Mankind's construction work can lead to excessive air pollution and habitat loss. Moreover, the country can contribute a major role in production of organic vegetables and many other spieces such as wheat, rice, cotton. This things mainly imported from rural area to major cities. For instance, fresh vegetables
supplie in Ahmedabad through the rural community. Therefore, it is required to shield the countryside. In fact a new housing development can also have detrimental effects on farm animals a such as cow and
sheep. For instance poorly planned building layouts
can reduce grazing space, limit ventilation and harm animal health and productivity.
All in all, it can be said that building a new homes in the rural area can have negative impacts on people as well as on ecosystem. Preservation and maintainance of countryside is vital for agriculture and vegetables. It
also provide relaxation away from busy citylife.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding agricultural impact, environmental concerns, and the value of rural life are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the point about 'spices production' is a bit narrow, and the connection between housing and global warming is asserted rather than fully explained. While the position is clear, the supporting evidence could be more sophisticated to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis remains at a functional level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Therefore' and 'Moreover'. Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, particularly in the second paragraph where the jump from agriculture to fresh air is not smoothly connected. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between ideas could be improved with more varied linking words and better signposting to guide the reader through the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'detrimental effects', 'habitat loss', and 'organic vegetables'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'backcountry can offers' (should be 'can offer') and 'spieces' (likely meant 'species' or 'crops'). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but the lack of precision and occasional spelling errors prevent a higher score. Expanding the range of synonyms would help improve the overall quality.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'construction space... are' (should be 'is'), 'backcountry can offers', and 'This things mainly imported'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing articles. While the errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest that the student has not yet mastered complex structures, keeping the score in the 6.0 range.
