Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that advanced technology is expected to replace educators in academic institutions. Although digital tools are becoming popular to complete academic tasks, because of the flexibility and 24/7 availability, whereas I believed that professors are still vital for the learners to develop critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
On the one hand, some people believe that AI will eventually take the place of instructors in schools and universities, because AI tools are quite efficient, accurate and convenient to use. If we need to search some information quickly, we always have the mobile phones to find out in seconds. Furthermore, technological devices are available 24/7 to perform tasks with more accuracy and faster than the humans, so if we need any help with our assignments at any time of the day, we can use online tools to complete our work. Hence, artifical intelligence is taking over the responsibilties traditionally performed by teachers.
On the other hand, there are several reasons behind this statement that the importance of teachers cannot be overlooked, such as human connection, emotional support and understanding. While Teachers can respond according to the student's capability, because they interact with their learners on a daily basis, if one particular way to grab some information is not easily understood by students, they can find the other way, but AI will not able do that. In addition to this, educators can inspire students and build their confidence, as they can share personal experience and practical advice. Consequently, teachers will remain more essential for the academic institutions.
To conclude, although AI can provide information quickly and accurately, however mentors will be still important because they can understand students' emotions, offer personalized experience and encourage them to succced.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 1.0
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for an opinion on building new homes in the countryside, but the essay discusses whether technology will replace teachers in academic institutions. Because the response fails to address the task requirements entirely, it cannot be assessed on the development of ideas related to the prompt. While the essay is structured as an argument, it is a response to a completely different question. Consequently, the task achievement score is severely impacted as the candidate has not addressed the prompt provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is well-structured with clear paragraphing and logical progression. The candidate uses cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', 'In addition to this', and 'To conclude' effectively to link ideas. Each paragraph has a clear central topic, and the flow of information is logical. Despite the content being irrelevant to the prompt, the internal structure and the use of linking words demonstrate a level of coherence that would be appropriate for a higher band if the topic were correct.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally appropriate for an academic essay. The candidate uses a range of relevant terms such as 'academic institutions', 'interpersonal skills', 'responsibilities', and 'personalized experience'. There are occasional minor errors, such as 'artifical' (spelling) and 'succced' (spelling). The range is sufficient to convey complex ideas clearly, and the word choice is generally precise, showing an ability to use topic-specific vocabulary effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The candidate demonstrates a good mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical errors, such as 'whereas I believed' (incorrect tense/conjunction usage) and 'AI will not able do that' (missing 'be'). However, these errors do not impede communication. The use of complex sentences, such as 'While Teachers can respond according to the student's capability, because they interact with their learners...', shows an attempt at varied structures. Punctuation is generally accurate, and the overall control of grammar is solid.
