Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is indeed true that homes are basic need for everyone. A handful places ,only rural areas has space to build the new homes because new homes are needed in places. While other believe that it is vital to protect the countryside areas. I shall discuss the both statements in upcoming paragraphs.

To commence with, there are various reasons why home are need t build in country areas. The predominant reason is that "growing population". To elaborate it population is growing day by day and also people give priority to live in cities for better future. Due To it cities do not to have enough space to live which is impetrative reason for increasing rents. Moreover, government can not ignore the shortage of houses. As a consequence, homes can be built in countryside areas.

On the other hand, There are tremendous reason why houses should not build in rural areas. The first and foremost reason is ,"pollution will increase" .To explain it, countryside areas are suitable for environment and also it it the habitat for wild life. If houses will build there pollution will increase because these areas become overcrowded. Furthermore, various spices will extinct which are important for environment. For example , in India , vast area of forest is cutting because of housing which lead to increase temperature and harm to wild life.

In conclusion , From my prospective , government have other solutions for housing they should not destroy the countryside area for housing because it is cause of plenty of problems which can not be curbed by anybody.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both sides of the issue and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention population growth and environmental concerns, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. For instance, the example regarding India is relevant but could be expanded to better illustrate the long-term impact of housing development. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is fully extended with clear reasoning and more detailed examples. Your position is clear in the conclusion, but it would be stronger if stated more explicitly in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the awkward phrasing in the introduction ('A handful places ,only rural areas has space'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'big' or 'important' and struggle with collocations, such as 'spices will extinct' (should be 'species will become extinct') and 'homes are need t build'. There are also some spelling errors and word-choice inaccuracies that occasionally hinder the flow. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and environmental conservation, and practice using these words in correct sentence structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('homes are need'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms ('houses should not build' instead of 'should not be built'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction, particularly passive voice and article usage, will help you achieve greater accuracy.
