Student answer (Band 6.0)

In most of the places, new homes are needed, but countryside area is the only space left to build new homes. Few people thinks that it is essential to protect the the countryside area and do not make new homes there. I believe that new homes are important to built but by saving the country side area.

New homes are important due to various reasons. Firstly, if we make homes in the countryside area, the prices of the houses are ;ow as comparative to advanced cities. Due to this, common people can buy home and live a good life without spend too much too money on daily needs. Apart from this, older peoples loves to live in the natural environment. this way youngers can live with their families in the home which is surrounded by greenery and they can live heathy lifestyle.

On the another hand, Forest area should be protect, because it the the home for wildlife animals. If we cut all the forest for homes, then where will be the animals live. Also, we cut all the countryside area then it will be difficult for the people to breath in the polluted environment. Humans who are suffering from problems like asthma, breathing problems and many more for those life will come more tougher. Lastly, if there will be less tree, then there should be less oxygen and the ozone layer in the atmosphere starts destroying which is harmful.

In conclusion, I believed that Government should have to take responsibilities that if new homes are built there should be space left for greenery and wildlife animals. Countryside area and the residential area should be divided into equal proportions. Also, there should be atleast one park in each colony while building houses so that people living that colony can go to parks in their meantime and inhale fresh air.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You provide relevant arguments for both sides of the issue, such as housing affordability and environmental protection. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the ozone layer is scientifically inaccurate and distracts from the core issue of urban planning. To improve, focus on more logical, real-world consequences of building in the countryside, such as infrastructure costs or the loss of agricultural land, rather than broad environmental claims that are difficult to support. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, though it introduces new suggestions like building parks, which should ideally be integrated into the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Apart from this', and 'On the another hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some repetitive sentence structures. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'this way' to connect ideas in the second paragraph. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid. Paragraphing is used appropriately, which helps the reader follow your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main points clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'natural environment', 'polluted environment', and 'residential area'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'life will come more tougher' instead of 'life will become tougher' and 'cut all the countryside area'. These errors do not impede communication but indicate a limited range of vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repeating basic words like 'make' or 'area' too frequently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Few people thinks'), article usage ('the the countryside'), and incorrect verb forms ('are ;ow as comparative to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and incorrect capitalization. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the text. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your score.
