Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many spots required to construct new houses, unfortunately the spot available for the construction is in the rural area. Few individuals thoughts that it is very crucial to protect the countryside and do not do any kind of construction. In my opinion, we should need to use such area for the residentials to accommodate the humans. But all this need proper and expert planning.

Accommodation is the major concern of human livings. Many areas are such where we need new houses. But due to lack of space the option left is only the areas which are not much developed. However, construction in particular site is not a matter of major concern. Because once the residents starts to live there many kind of other things get improved with the time like new shops get open nearby. The locality starts to develop day by day.

With all this, some people thinks that it is an imperative action to protect the countryside space. May be they do not want that people over there can adjust with few drawbacks like the area is not developed on the primary level. When such an area is choose for the accommodations people can usually face some remarkable problems like the facilities are not easy to access.

In my opinion, I recommend to construct this areas for the homes. So, that we can develop the countryside locations. Merits and demerits are the part of every place. With the time issues can we resolved and managed. But we should not need to compromise with the development of our community residents.

In conclusion, I support the idea to built new homes in the countryside. Furthermore, I recommend to make all the plans for the construction under the supervision of a civil engineer or government authorities. So, that they can guide properly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of building in the countryside. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that development follows construction, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The response tends to repeat the same point—that development will eventually occur—without exploring the counter-arguments regarding environmental impact or loss of biodiversity in sufficient detail. To improve, ensure each paragraph introduces a distinct, well-supported point rather than restating the same general idea. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence is thin.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural. For example, 'With all this' and 'In my opinion, I recommend' are used in ways that do not always flow smoothly from the previous sentence. There is also some repetition of phrasing, such as 'in my opinion' appearing twice. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'nevertheless') and ensure that referencing (using pronouns like 'this' or 'these') clearly points back to the intended noun.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'spots', 'things', and 'good/bad' (implied by merits/demerits). There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'construct this areas' (should be 'develop these areas') and 'human livings' (should be 'human living conditions'). While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there is a lack of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning or environmental conservation. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic and precise terminology would significantly improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Many spots required', 'some people thinks'), incorrect verb forms ('once the residents starts', 'I support the idea to built'), and awkward phrasing ('we should not need to compromise with the development'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors prevent the writing from being considered fluent. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a great starting point for improvement.
