Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the need for housing and the importance of protecting the countryside. You clearly state your position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the development of rural areas is a bit vague, and the connection between building homes and improving the education system is not fully explained. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is elaborated with more specific detail or logical steps. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Needless to say', 'Furthermore', and 'For instance'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'due to this thing' or 'due to this factor there has a need'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on some repetitive phrasing, such as 'rural area' and 'natural landscape'. There are also several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'reckon that there should not be erecting a buildings' and 'area can diversified'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and focus on learning common collocations to ensure your word choices sound more natural and precise in an academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('population is rising', 'there has a need'), incorrect article usage ('in urban area'), and awkward sentence construction ('Who h is more beneficial'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence structure, specifically ensuring correct verb forms and proper article usage, will significantly improve your accuracy.
