Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the present era, the demand for houses is increasing day by day. In some areas, the rural side is the only option for building new homes to meet housing needs. On the other hand, some people think that protecting the countryside is more crucial than building new homes. I will discuss my views on this in this essay, as I think making new homes is necessary for homeless people to save their lives.
To begin with, there are several reasons why new houses are compulsory to build. The most important reason is to provide shelter to homeless people. If people live without homes, it will not only effect their lives but also financially harm a nation because people who survive without shelter cannot contribute to their country. For example, a state can offer help to any other province during any emergency if they are financially stable. It is only then possible for people in that state to enjoy a better life and boost their economy by studying in the best streams, such as medicine, engineering, and competitive fields.
On the other hand, I think the safety of rural areas is also important. The main concern about it is nature and a peaceful environment. To explain it,
While developing now, human beings and wildlife suffer a lot from pollution. By saving countryside areas, society can save memories and traditions. Most of the people attach with rural areas even though they move to cities. Furthermore, saving countryside areas and providing homes for people are both important. For instance, constructors can build buildings to the highest standards so they can also preserve the countryside area.
Conclusion, although protection of countryside is crucial but making new homes is also important because population is incre

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You argue that housing is a priority, though you acknowledge the importance of environmental protection. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the economic benefits of housing is a bit tangential, as it focuses on general economic stability rather than the specific trade-off between land use and housing. Additionally, the conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence, which prevents a full summary of your position. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are directly linked to the core conflict of the prompt and always complete your final paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'Furthermore'. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward transitions and incomplete thoughts. For example, the sentence 'To explain it, While developing now...' is fragmented and lacks a clear connection to the preceding idea. Referencing is generally clear, but the mechanical nature of some transitions limits the overall flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'compulsory', 'financially stable', and 'preserve'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'most of the people attach with rural areas' (should be 'are attached to') and 'best streams' (which is not standard in this context). While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—to make your writing sound more natural and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('population is incre'), article usage, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'it will not only effect their lives'—should be 'affect'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the incomplete final sentence. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are punctuated correctly to improve clarity.
