Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's fast paced world the objective of advancement in countryside became a trending topic for many citizens. As increasing population needs a place for their accommodation, but the only place that is available for building is in countryside. Some believe that it should be left as it is crucial to protect it and now build new place to live. From my stand point countryside should be protected for nature and wildlife.
On the one hand, building homes or apartment in countryside might harm environment by polluting and deforestation. This leads to climate change and occurrence of new diseases. There will be no green spaces left for population to experience fresh air and enjoy with their families. It causes direct habitat-loss and disturbance that threaten native wildlife population. For instance, Clearing woods, ponds removes the natural food sources, shelter and breeding grounds that animals need to survive.
On the other hand, not building homes in countryside protects biodiversity, preserves ecological connectivity, and maintains natural ecosystem services that support both wildlife and human population. Most youngsters are leaving their families which made the need of new houses, they should value the relationships and motivated to not part ways unless and until there is a need. Many agricultural crops are grown on rural places.
In conclusion, I am of that opinion where countryside should be preserved for wildlife and environment. It should be left for agriculture and nature as it provides food and many basic necessities for the survival of population. Restricting domestic housing development stop diversion of local groundwater and river reserves away from crop irrigation systems towards household use

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, particularly the environmental arguments in the second paragraph. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The third paragraph introduces a point about young people leaving their families, which is not clearly linked to the central argument of countryside preservation, making the logic feel slightly disjointed. While the conclusion reinforces your stance, the arguments could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. To improve, ensure every supporting point directly reinforces your main thesis rather than introducing tangential social commentary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', to signal shifts in the argument. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is abrupt. For example, the transition between the discussion of wildlife and the mention of young people leaving their families is jarring. Improving the use of referencing and more sophisticated transition phrases would help the ideas flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'biodiversity', 'ecological connectivity', and 'groundwater'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'advancement in countryside' instead of 'development of the countryside' and 'rural places' instead of 'rural areas'. Some phrasing is also slightly unnatural, such as 'motivated to not part ways'. While your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, you need to focus on more precise collocations and idiomatic expressions to move into the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('in countryside' instead of 'in the countryside'), subject-verb agreement, and prepositions. For instance, 'the objective of advancement in countryside became' should be 'has become'. Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as missing commas in complex sentences. While these errors do not generally impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic article usage and ensuring consistent verb tenses throughout your writing.
