Student answer (Band 6.0)
As the population is increasing, needs of houses are also surging. To make new houses land only available in rural areas. Many individuals think that, land of countryside should be protected there should not make any construction on those areas. I am also support this notion because there are shortage of agricultural land through out in the world.
To begin with, those who believe that new houses should not be build in countryside areas believe that in rural areas many species of animals and birds live in natural habitants. if any construction started then it will destroy natural habitants as a result various animals will die and they will instinct.
Moreover, mostly farming are based in rural areas where farmer grow vegetables and crops. which supply to many countries. if that land use for housing then prices of groceries will go high. and it will become difficult to survive for poor families.
On the other hand, there are other alternatives which can be used to save countryside land. Government should construct apartments and buildings instead of housing in urban areas and provide subsides to people on those flats. For example, in China government put ban on construction on agricultural land if any one violate the rule heavy fine will be impose on those citizens.
In conclusion, authorities ought to make planes so that rural land can be saved for animals and birds. despite building new houses, high building and apartments should be build so that land can be saved in countryside.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of protecting the countryside. The main ideas—environmental protection and food security—are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention animal habitats and farming, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The example regarding China is a good attempt to support the argument, but the overall explanation remains brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the implications of your points rather than just stating them. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but the essay would benefit from more detailed elaboration in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is occasionally mechanical, and some sentences feel disconnected due to punctuation errors (e.g., 'crops. which supply'). Referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences are connected more fluidly would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You use basic terms like 'new houses' and 'rural areas' repeatedly. There are some errors in word choice and form, such as 'natural habitants' (should be 'habitats'), 'they will instinct' (should be 'they will become extinct'), and 'make planes' (should be 'make plans'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or varied vocabulary limits the score. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'needs of houses are also surging' (should be 'the need for housing is surging'), 'should not be build' (should be 'should not be built'), and 'if any one violate' (should be 'if anyone violates'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and missing commas. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms in passive constructions.
