Student answer (Band 5.5)

The debate about constructing new homes in countryside because of accomdation issues in manyplaces, While some argue that it is also important to protect the countryside and some are contradicting this has become recent and major issue to discuss.

In my opinion, I believe that constructing homes in the countryside will destroy farmlands which plays a key role for the survival of our country. Not only the farmlands but there are some communities like amish and jewish people who doesn't belive in modern tech, has settled in countrysides far from cities protecting their cultures and who only rely on farming, cattle, and other cultural roles.

Furthermore Construction of homes means construction of a new community which requires not only the homes but also all the aminties like parks, grocery stores, community centers etc., all this requires a huge area of land which might effect those communities who are setteled in the countryside from generations and their livelyhood.

Urbanisation is also crucial to accomidate the growing population and basic needs but the government should make a strategic plans and reforms where the growth shouldn't disturb the current population and maintain a balanced situation which doesn't has any effect in future.

Hence, I strongly contadict that contruction of new homes in countrysides is not a feasable solution given the above reasons.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against building in the countryside. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While you provide reasons such as the preservation of farmland and the protection of specific communities, these points are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail. The under-length nature of the response means that the task is only partially addressed, as the arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score. To improve, ensure you expand on your examples and provide a more comprehensive discussion of the counter-arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the opening sentence is a run-on and lacks proper transition, making the introduction difficult to follow. While you use linking words like 'Furthermore' and 'Hence', the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that links back to your main thesis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors such as 'accomdation', 'aminties', 'setteled', 'livelyhood', 'accomidate', 'contadict', and 'feasable'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone of the essay. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'urbanisation' and 'strategic plans', but the range is limited. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accurate spelling and attempt to incorporate more precise, academic collocations to express your ideas more fluently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, the first sentence is grammatically incomplete and confusing. You also have issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'farmlands which plays' and 'communities... who doesn't belive'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt complex structures, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits your score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentences are complete and correctly punctuated.
