Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, a big chunk of people are moving towards cities, due to the vast majority of amenities. However, it is opined by some folks that building new houses in the countryside is not a wise approach. Now I will explain some plausible reasons which supports to this idea.
The first and foremost reason is the large population in cities. In this globalized world most of the individuals are moving to cities by searching for jobs and other services. As a result, the population of urban areas is increasing with each passing day. It not only creates obstacles for urban people but also reduces the space for living. However, if the government does not build new homes in the countryside, then people will stop going to other areas due to a shortage of homes.
Moreover, another main reason for building new houses in cities is that it will disrupt many new businesses. For example, by giving mere focus on construction may lower the chances of other new buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, schools, etc. Because there would be no vacant space to build other things. From my personal experience, last year I was making a plan to open a garment shop in the city, but I did not get space in the market because of the large houses. The second reason is that having a larger population of people can create a risk for those who have been living in cities for many years, while they do not know bout the new people who will stay next to them. It can lead misunderstanding .
Conclusion, building new houses is not a bad thing for anyone , but the government should focus on other sectors as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but lacks a clear, consistent position. While you mention that building in the countryside is not a 'wise approach,' the arguments provided are somewhat contradictory and confusing. For instance, you argue that building in the countryside might stop people from moving to cities, but then you pivot to discussing the negative impact of high density in cities. The ideas are under-developed, and the connection between the countryside housing issue and the personal anecdote about a garment shop is weak. To improve, ensure your main position is stated clearly in the introduction and that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-supported argument that directly answers the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and confusing arguments. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'The first and foremost reason,' the relationships between sentences are sometimes strained. For example, the transition between the urban population issue and the business/garment shop anecdote is abrupt and lacks a clear logical link. Paragraphing is present, but the ideas within the paragraphs do not always flow smoothly. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. You rely on somewhat informal or repetitive phrasing, such as 'big chunk of people' and 'folks.' There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'giving mere focus on construction.' While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic language. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning and environmental protection, while avoiding overly informal expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'which supports to this idea' (incorrect preposition), 'do not know bout the new people' (spelling/omission), and 'It can lead misunderstanding' (missing preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and proofreading for minor slips in spelling and punctuation.
