Student answer (Band 5.5)
As a growing in number of populations, constructing new houses must required. However, ther are not space remaining to develop houses in town or city area whereas people thinks to construct homes in the countryside. However, some individual claims that we should protect farm land or agriculture area and we could not build houses over there. Well, I am agree with to protect the countryside and plan to construct multi-storey buildings in the city area, which I will explain below in details.
On the one hand, in some places of country, people are moving gradually for job, educational or business purpose. Thus, the number of houses are getting fulled to live across these kind of industrial or residential area. On account of this reason, many people consider to construct new buildings outside of city area. They claims that the goverment should take an action to remove forest land and make residential area in spite of the countyside area, which would help to the goverment in the different way: more and more workers, students of freshers are planning to come in such cities and being helpful for them to live in an open area instead of living in congested area in the middle of city or town.
On the other side, some opponents concern to save agriculture land and suggest to construct multi- storey buildings in the middle of residential area by demolising from 1 or 2 storey to high rise buildings, where more number of residents can live or stay. Moreover, they are mainely enthusiastics to save countryside area because these area should be used for farming or agriculture purpose. Eventually, this idea would be beneficial for every individuals to live healthy life.
To conclude with, rather constructing buildings in the countryside, I preferred to demolise single story houses and utilise those areas to construct multi-storey buildings, where more number of people can live and eventually save the countyside area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the dilemma of building new homes in the countryside versus the city and clearly states the writer's position to protect the countryside and utilize vertical building in urban areas. Ideas are presented and supported with reasons regarding urban migration and agricultural protection. However, some arguments lack full extension and suffer from repetition. For instance, the discussion on urban migration in the second paragraph touches on employment and education, but the connection to the proposed solutions is somewhat blurred by grammatical confusion. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 5.5 to 6.0 level. Because ideas are relevant though occasionally under-developed, a score of 6.0 is appropriate.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into four paragraphs with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a coherent overall arrangement. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other side', and 'To conclude with' are utilized to structure the response. However, referencing and paragraph flow are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, sentences like 'On account of this reason, many people consider to construct new buildings outside of city area' display awkward transitions, and pronoun referencing ('these area', 'this idea') is occasionally inaccurate. Despite these mechanical flaws, the progression of ideas remains discernible throughout, justifying a Band 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the task, including terms such as 'residential area', 'agriculture purpose', and 'multi-storey buildings'. However, there are frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as 'As a growing in number of populations', 'must required', 'ther are not space remaining', and 'demolising from 1 or 2 storey to high rise buildings'. These inaccuracies demonstrate limited control over less common lexical items. Spelling and word formation mistakes also appear regularly, though they generally do not prevent the reader from grasping the overall meaning. This performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptors well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is weak throughout the text. There are numerous basic errors in verb forms, prepositions, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure, such as 'constructing new houses must required', 'ther are not space', 'Well, I am agree with to protect', and 'rather constructing buildings'. Furthermore, punctuation and phrasing errors frequently impede smooth reading. Because complex structures are often faulty and errors are pervasive, the grammar falls into the Band 5.0 category.
