Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's rapidly evolving world, the issue of building new homes at countryside has become widely debated. While, some people believe that it is more significant to protect rural area, I strongly believe that building new houses is also important but we have to do in such a way that we can also protect our surroundings. This essay will explain why I support this viewpoint.
There are several reasons why I hold this opinion. Firstly, this is because building new area is also very essential because space is also needed in construction. Nowadays, cities are increasing day by day and due to this factor people wants to move near countryside so they get more space and clean air. Secondly, building homes near countryside can develop the rural areas and they get more facilities and services due to this project which further demonstrates that it give construction worker more work and money.
Admittedly, supporters of the opposing view argue that if people start making residential complex in ruaral area than our surrounding gets harm because there will be lots of noise pollution, waste and air pollution in the envionment and due to that local people stop visiting countryside for their relaxing time. For example; as in today's world cities are growing so fast and due to that people making their houses far away from urban area because they want peace in their life, they want clean air, food to eat which is healthy so this are reasons why countryside will disturb when people start coming to live over their.
In conclusion, although some people support that building new home is important and space is main concern to move in the countryside. I firmly believe that w eshould be more careful to develop new residential area while taking major steps in which enviornment will not affected through this because of wastage and pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and discussing both the need for new homes and the importance of protecting the countryside. The writer's stance is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas in the body paragraphs tends to be slightly repetitive and lacks specific examples or depth, relying on general statements like 'cities are increasing day by day' and 'people wants to move near countryside'. While the main arguments are relevant and the prompt is adequately answered, the limited elaboration and occasional over-generalisation place this response firmly at Band 6.0 according to the task response descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal logical progression, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Admittedly'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in awkward transitions like 'this is because building new area is also very essential'. Furthermore, internal paragraph cohesion is occasionally disrupted by repetitive phrasing and run-on structures. Paragraphing is present and functionally guides the reader, but the overall mechanical application of cohesive links aligns the response with a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-related words such as 'construction', 'residential complex', 'noise pollution', and 'urban area'. There are, however, noticeable word-choice errors and awkward collocations throughout the text, such as 'building new homes at countryside', 'ruaral area', 'making residential complex', and 'enviornment will not affected'. Spelling errors ('ruaral', 'envionment', 'enviornment', 'w eshould') and grammatical word-form mistakes ('people wants', 'this are reasons') appear multiple times. Because the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message despite these inaccuracies, a Band 5.5 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, control over grammar is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('people wants', 'this are reasons'), prepositions ('at countryside'), passive voice construction ('enviornment will not affected'), and punctuation or word spacing ('w eshould'). While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning and the text remains readable, they occur with enough frequency across complex sentences to prevent the writing from achieving a Band 6.0. Therefore, a Band 5.5 accurately reflects the grammatical control demonstrated.
