Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the concern for a comfortable accommodation is gradually becoming a global issue, especially in urban cities. However, there is enough space in the countryside for everyone. Few persons would ague that countryside are for farming and not for urban domestic houses. In my opinion, I would agree for the extension of residential building to countryside due to congested urban living homes. Because, the living quarters in developed part of the city is so small for a family of two adults and three kids.
To begin, the size of living quarters for public use are not big enough to accommodate a family of 5 or 6 persons. I recently visited my uncle in Lagos, and I was asked to share the room with his two sons, I was not comfortable, I thought I would have a room for myself but that was not the case. This indicate how tight the accommodations can be in big cities.
However, there are large portion of land for everyone to build their own bungalow and live freely at rural areas, about 2000km away from the urban area. During my visit to Lagos, I also visited a family friend, whose house is at the outskirt of the city, they lived in a 5 bedroom apartment, protected with their own fence and they built a relaxation garden inside their compound. But, the only concern I observed, was the need for domestic facilities like big supermarket, gas station, relaxation park within the community. If the government can spread some of these public institutions to the countryside and encourage local private investors, many would migrate to live in countryside homes.
In conclusion, from the discussion in the page, building new homes in countryside deserves more merit than adapting to small living homes in big cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support building homes in the countryside because city accommodation is crowded, and you address the concern that rural areas lack facilities. The Lagos examples make the argument relevant and help show why you favour rural development. This meets the task well, and the practical suggestion that government and investors provide services adds useful support. However, the claim that there is “enough space in the countryside for everyone” is broad and not substantiated, while the farming and environmental value of protecting the countryside is only briefly acknowledged. Develop that opposing concern and explain how housing could be planned to limit harm. More balanced development would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs develop the housing and rural-facility points, and a conclusion restates your position. The examples generally appear in relevant places, so the overall progression is understandable. Some links, however, feel mechanical or unclear. “To begin” and “However” signal stages, but the second body paragraph shifts from available land to a personal example and then to infrastructure without clearly showing how each point connects. The phrase “from the discussion in the page” also does not refer naturally to anything in the essay. Use clearer topic sentences and explicit links between the example, its implication, and your argument to make cohesion more controlled.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “congested urban living,” “residential building,” “domestic facilities,” and “local private investors.” These choices help communicate the main argument, and the examples are easy to follow. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “comfortable accommodation,” “urban domestic houses,” “public institutions,” and “relaxation park.” “Ague” is also a spelling error, and “countryside” is used where “rural areas” would sometimes sound more natural. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on common collocations for housing, rural services, and land use, and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional construction: “If the government can spread some of these public institutions … many would migrate.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “countryside are” has a subject–verb agreement problem, “the size … are” should use a singular verb, and “This indicate” should be “This indicates.” There are also issues with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “Because, the living quarters…” and the comma after “But” in “But, the only concern…”. Review agreement, article use, and how dependent clauses connect to complete sentences. Greater accuracy across these patterns would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
