Student answer (Band 4.5)

Due to over growth of population in recent past years the demand for building new houses is increasing. To fulfil this demand many people believe that new houses should be built in countryside while some oppose it. Building new houses in countryside has merits and demerits.

Constructing new houses in the country side will provide opportunities of employment for local people. In this way living standard of local people will improved. For example when construction of new buildings will begain in ruler areas the new roads will built. To facilite the new residents more schools , hospitals will also be builts . In this way the living standards of local people will be higher because in this way they can get better education and health facilities because schools and hospital will be avaible to them just on the walk of few steps.

Well every picture has two sides positive and negative.

The negative side of the building new houses in countryside is this will destroy the ecosystem of nature. New houses will destroy the nature. with the developments of new houses the population will boast in ruler areas and this increased population will harm and destroy the wildlife. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You discuss both potential benefits and harms of building homes in the countryside, and the example of the Green Cholistan project gives your argument a relevant personal context. However, the task asks for your opinion, and your position is not made clear: the introduction presents both sides, while the response does not conclude whether protecting the countryside or building homes is more important. The benefits are also asserted rather than fully explained, and the final sentence, “The main disadvantage … is that it”, is unfinished. The response is 9 words below the required minimum, which further limits how fully you can develop your reasons. State your view directly and support it with a complete conclusion and developed examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about benefits, and one about environmental costs. Examples are placed near the points they illustrate, which helps the reader follow the general topic. However, progression is weakened by the abrupt sentence “Well every picture has two sides positive and negative,” and the final paragraph stops mid-sentence, leaving the argument incomplete. Linking phrases such as “In this way” and repeated references to “new houses” are used mechanically, while the relationship between the claimed employment benefits and improved services could be organised more clearly. Use a clear sequence—state your position, develop each reason, then conclude—and vary linking and referencing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “employment,” “living standard,” “ecosystem,” “wildlife,” and “natural habitat,” so the reader can understand the main subject and examples. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “over growth of population,” “the population will boast,” “ruler areas,” and “on the walk of few steps”; these expressions are unclear or unnatural in context. Repetition of “new houses,” “destroy,” and “in this way” also restricts variety. Build a more accurate set of phrases for housing demand, rural development, and environmental impact, and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including explanations introduced by “because” and examples beginning with “For example.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “living standard of local people will improved” needs a correctly formed passive, while “the new roads will built” is missing an auxiliary. The sentence beginning “For example when construction…” also has faulty tense and clause structure. Some sentences remain understandable, but these recurring errors can make the reader pause, and the unfinished final sentence prevents a complete grammatical thought. Practise accurate future forms and build complex sentences from shorter, controlled clauses.
