Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern era, where population is growing at an alarming rate, the need of building new houses has been rising significantly. However, the only space available for building them is in the countryside. While a few people believe that it is crucial to protect the rural areas and stop building homes there. This essay will discuss the importance of building new homes as well as reasons to preserve rural regions and will state why I firmly consider that new houses should be built on these areas.
Contructing new homes are considerably important to reduce the burden of over-crowdedness in cities and towns. As many people are moving to cities in order to find job opportunites, better academic qualification and for improved quality of life. As a result, citites are conjested with traffic and leading to increased pollution. The construction of new buildings and apartments, providing facilities to local people in rural areas will helps to lower the burden.
With regards to preserving the countryside, the majority of people support the point that these places should be reserved for agricultural activities only. As people living in cities are not concerned about cultivating crops and farming, the rural people pay more attention to these activites so that they can feed their families and also serve the food to nation. Consequently, people holds a viewpoint that the state should not destroy these lands to construct new apartments.
Moving to my opinion, I believe that if we want to improve the lifestyle of people living in rural regions, we should take initiave to modernise the countryside not fully but at least some parts of the areas can be reserved for agriculture and other areas can be developed by providing employment, education and healthcare facilities, thus, locals would not need to move to other cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both sides of the issue and make your position clear: you support some countryside development while reserving other areas for agriculture. The discussion of urban overcrowding and the value of farmland is relevant, and your final paragraph offers a practical compromise. This meets the task well overall, but the ideas are not equally developed. For example, you mention traffic and pollution in cities without explaining how building homes in rural areas would reduce these problems, and the benefits of rural employment, education and healthcare are listed rather than illustrated. To strengthen the response, explain the likely effects of your proposal and add a specific example to support one or two key points. The 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted in the stated total.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on housing needs, one on preserving farmland, and a concluding paragraph stating your preferred compromise. Linking phrases such as “As a result,” “With regards to,” and “Consequently” help show relationships between ideas. This gives the essay a coherent progression, though some connections are mechanical or unclear. The sentence beginning “As many people are moving to cities” is a fragment, and “The construction of new buildings and apartments… will helps to lower the burden” does not clearly connect the proposed rural facilities to the earlier problems. Use complete sentences and make the cause-and-effect links explicit. A more direct transition into your own position would also help the conclusion feel less abrupt.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “over-crowdedness,” “agricultural activities,” “cultivating crops,” and “healthcare facilities.” These choices make the subject clear, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice sometimes reduce precision: “Contructing,” “opportunites,” “citites,” and “conjested” contain spelling errors, while “serve the food to nation” is an unnatural collocation. “Academic qualification” is also less natural in this context than a phrase referring to educational opportunities. Proofread carefully and learn common word partnerships as complete phrases. More precise vocabulary would help express the relationship between housing, rural development and environmental protection without relying on broad terms such as “improve the lifestyle.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a concession in the introduction and conditional phrasing in “if we want to improve the lifestyle…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in sentence structure and agreement remain. “While a few people believe…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, and “As many people are moving to cities…” is another fragment. There are also agreement errors in “Constructing new homes are” and “the rural people pay… so that they can…,” followed by “people holds.” The phrase “will helps” combines a modal with an incorrectly inflected verb. Review complete sentence formation, subject–verb agreement and the base form after modal verbs. Greater accuracy across these structures would make the argument easier to follow.
