Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, new houses are needed, but the only space available for constructing these homes in the countryside. Few people think that it is more essential to save the countryside and not build new homes there. I totally disagree with this given statement and I will discuss my point of view in the upcoming paragraphs.
To beign, it would be great to ease housing pressure. In other words, nowadays finding a new homes are very hard and these homes are also more expensive. Moreover, it becomes very hard for poor people to find new houses in tight budget. For example, a survey was conducted in the USA in 2024, they found that many people face house crisis problems nowadays in the whole world especially poor indiviuals. As a result, if new homes build in countryside, it would be not only helpful to manage housing pressure, but also weak people will get a chance to look for accommodation according to their budget.
Moving further, building new homes in villages also useful to support local economics. To explain it, constructing new homes are often required many worker such as builders, pullumbers and electricians. For example, if a new appartments project get starts in countryside, many local people would get a source of income. Therefore, a large number of local people will get immideate job opportunity. when new homes get build in countryside.
In conclution, although many people think that village will get crowded if new homes build there, I believe that it would be more useful to cantrol houses preesure and to unlock new job oppotunities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree with protecting the countryside from all new housing, and you give two relevant reasons—easing housing pressure and creating local jobs. The examples about people on low incomes and construction workers help connect these reasons to the question. However, both points are developed quite generally, and the claimed 2024 survey is not explained or supported with specific findings. The conclusion briefly mentions overcrowding but does not explore how development could be balanced with protecting rural areas. The response is also one word below the 250-word minimum; the 16 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Add a little more explanation or a specific example to meet the requirement and develop your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main ideas are presented in a sensible order, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “For example,” and “Therefore” help show relationships between points. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. However, some linking is mechanical, and the final sentence of the second body paragraph—“when new homes get build in countryside”—is an incomplete fragment that interrupts the progression. The conclusion also introduces overcrowding without connecting it clearly to the earlier arguments. To improve, make each paragraph’s final sentence complete and use referencing or transitions that show how each example supports the main claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “housing pressure,” “accommodation,” “local people,” and “job opportunity.” There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “builders” and “electricians.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the writing less natural: “weak people” does not convey the intended meaning, “local economics” is not the right phrase here, and “house crisis problems” is awkward. Spelling errors such as “beign,” “indiviuals,” and “conclution” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of collocations for housing and employment, and proofread spelling and word forms so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if new homes build in countryside” and a “not only … but also” construction. However, errors occur frequently, and some sentences are difficult to follow. For example, “the only space available for constructing these homes in the countryside” is missing a main verb, while “finding a new homes are very hard” has problems with number and agreement. The conditional clause needs a passive form, and “when new homes get build in countryside” is an incomplete sentence with an incorrect verb form. Practise complete sentence patterns, subject–verb agreement, articles and passive constructions, then check each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb.
