Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays is it needed to build now houses beacse increase of population. however, land s are only available on small villege and out of big citys. Some individuals think that we have to protect land for farming and save the land. My clear opinion will explain in furthure paragraph.
I believe that it is importatnt to build home for people because it is basic need. but, useing farming land to construct new house is not good idea. if we start using that land then how farmers will grow vegetables, fruits and other eatable products. without food we can not survive and it will effect increase price of food and basic needed products.
On the other side house is also basic need to survive for human beings. for that i have one suggestion in city are we have to use land properly. For example, reduce the houses and start building flats so in small space we can manage more people and reduce the wastage of land in city area. that is one way second way is spare some portion for only farming and no matter what happen do not build houses on that land. That how we can manage to constructe some house there and save land for farmers as well.
In conclusion, I would like to say that we need to protect farm land from making residential area because house and food are basic need we can manage stay from build flats in small spae but we can not manage farming land. So, that was my opinion on this topic.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you support protecting farmland while meeting housing needs through better use of urban space. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, especially the need to preserve land for food production and the suggestion to build flats. This meets the task well, and the practical proposal shows some development beyond simply stating an opinion. However, the discussion of how housing could be provided outside farmland is brief, and the suggestion to “reduce the houses” is unclear. To strengthen the response further, explain how denser urban housing could accommodate more people and give a specific example of a place or situation where this approach would work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally move from the need for food to the need for housing. Linking phrases such as “On the other side” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear: “that is one way second way” does not clearly separate the two proposals, and “That how we can manage” leaves the relationship between them difficult to follow. The conclusion also repeats the main point rather than drawing the proposals together. Use clearer transitions and organise each distinct solution in a separate, fully developed sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “farming land,” “construct new house,” “vegetables,” “fruits” and “flats.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make the writing less clear, such as “eatable products,” “basic needed products” and “reduce the houses.” Spelling errors, including “beacse,” “importatnt” and “furthure,” also affect the overall impression. Aim to learn accurate collocations for housing and land use, and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions would help you explain your argument without relying repeatedly on “basic need,” “land” and “house.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, for example the conditional question “if we start using that land then how farmers will grow…” and the sentence beginning “because house and food are basic need.” This shows an effort to connect reasons and consequences. However, control is inconsistent: articles and plurals are often missing or incorrect (“build home,” “new house,” “basic need”), and word order is faulty in “how farmers will grow.” Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also unreliable, with several sentences beginning in lowercase and some clauses joined awkwardly. Practise accurate article and plural use, and build longer sentences around a clear subject and verb. These improvements would make your meaning easier to follow.
