Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, due to the moderniastion the globe of industries and structure of houses is increasing and for this reason more land is needed from the countryside .There are different viewpoints for this as its more important to protect nature rather than new homes, which will be discussed in further paragraphs with my opinion at the end.

To start with, the first and foremost reason of new homes needed is the small families. As these days most of the people do not like to live in the joint families due to the privacy and advacement in the world . For example , in the family there are three brothers so they will build three different houses for their and wives and children . Technically it will cover three times more land as compare to one house,so the land will be covered from forests after cutting tress and this affects wildlife which is very important for world .

Furthermore, the other reason for that is advacement and technology. in simple words due to modern era there are alot of construction and inventions are going and many more job placements are done in countryside areas so the land can be use in luxurious buildings and apartments because people want luxury lifestyles . for instance , pools in the house , bars , home theatre as well as big garages for their big cars and many more things.

In my point of view its good for individuals that they have all facilities in their homes but protecting wildlife in countrysides is more important for world by making boundries for them and using land in a smart way so it can be safe as well as modernisation grow.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the central issue and give a recognisable position: you acknowledge the benefits of homes and facilities, but conclude that protecting wildlife is more important. The examples about separate homes for brothers and luxury features help illustrate pressure on land. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not clearly explain why countryside protection should take priority beyond the general importance of wildlife, and the discussion of construction and job placements is not fully connected to the question of whether homes should be built there. The introduction also postpones your opinion until the end, so your stance is not clear throughout. State your view directly at the beginning, then develop two focused reasons with specific support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To start with” and “Furthermore” make the sequence visible, and the final paragraph returns to your main view. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from family size to forest loss without fully explaining the link, while the second shifts from technology to jobs and then luxury features. Some linking phrases are mechanical or unclear, including “the other reason for that.” Use topic sentences that state one main point, then explain and exemplify it in a clear order. More precise referencing and transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “privacy,” “wildlife,” “construction,” and “facilities,” and you use examples such as “home theatre” and “garages” to make the discussion concrete. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “land,” “people,” and “things,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less clear. Examples include “the globe of industries,” “job placements are done,” and “land can be use in luxurious buildings.” Spelling errors such as “moderniastion,” “advacement,” “tress,” and “boundries” are also noticeable. Build a more precise topic vocabulary for housing and conservation, and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “As” and “because,” and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “As these days most of the people do not like to live in the joint families” is a fragment, while “the land can be use” has an incorrect verb form. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “there are alot of construction and inventions are going.” Commas and spaces around punctuation are inconsistent, and some sentences run together. Practise complete sentence patterns and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and correct verb form.
