Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, many people need new homes, but in some areas only space available for building in the countryside. It is believed by some people, countryside should be protected instead off build new homes. I think that protecting nature is more important but homes also are necessary.

On the one hand, protect the nature is more important as it provide not only fresh air but also clean water as well as natural environment for both animals and birds. However, building too many houses are destroy forest, green spaces as well as wildlife habitats. It also help to reduce pollution and make environment healthier. As a consequence, this may help to give better life for future generation.

On the other hand, the population is increasing day by day and struggling to find affordable homes. Majority of the time they live in apartments which is very expensive due to rents. Building houses in the countryside can provide more homes either families or young people. It can also create new jobs and improve local facilities such as roads, schools as well as hospitals.

In my opinion, government should make balance between wither protect countryside or build new homes. As,most of people are face difficulty to find homes and government should make homes on suitable locations and where it is needed. Additionally, government should also include facilities for people which is use in dailt life like school as well as health.

In conclusion, although protect countryside area is important but homes are necessary for people to live. It is a responsibility of government to make good decision between both protecting environment and build new homes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider protecting nature more important, while recognising that homes are also needed. You address both sides with relevant points, including wildlife habitats, affordable housing, jobs and local facilities, and your conclusion returns to the need for a government decision. This covers the task, but some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, you say countryside development can create jobs and improve facilities, but do not explain how these benefits should be weighed against environmental damage. Your final position also shifts towards a general call for balance, so clarify when building is acceptable and what areas should be protected. A specific example or a more developed explanation would make your reasoning more convincing and complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, your opinion and a conclusion. The progression from environmental protection to housing needs is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers navigate the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some of the flexibility associated with stronger organisation. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, and a few connections are unclear: “It also help to reduce pollution” does not clearly identify what “it” refers to, while “As,most of people” disrupts the transition into your recommendation. Use referencing that clearly points back to an idea, and connect each paragraph’s examples more explicitly to your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss the issue, including “wildlife habitats,” “affordable homes,” “local facilities” and “future generation.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some useful phrases such as “make balance” and “suitable locations.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “protect the nature,” “instead off build” and “make good decision” do not sound natural in context. There are also spelling or word-form slips, such as “dailt.” Build a more reliable range of common collocations for housing and environmental policy, and check spelling and word forms. More accurate phrasing would make your ideas clearer without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “although” and a relative clause in “facilities … which is use in dailt life.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “only space available” lacks a determiner, “as it provide” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “building too many houses are destroy” combines an incorrect agreement pattern with a faulty verb form. The final paragraph also contains a sentence fragment after “As,”. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, especially in longer sentences. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions; check each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb and complete structure.
