Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Mr Smith,
I trust this letter finds you in good. I am writing to grant permission to work in Avicena medicine company's head office which is situated in Turky for the duration of six months.
I want to work in company's head office for six months because I extremly need to work with pharmacist in order to ensure the quality and the therapeutic effect of the medicine which is being priduced by our company. Moreover, I gave medicine of batch number 1132 to a doctor and after trail in field it did not give the results as we were expecting.
Although my work is to sale the products to doctors directly , it would be certainly possible for me to work with doctors on call and as a result my sale would not be disturbed . In addition to this I made strong relations with doctors while working in the field so I am confident that I could achive increase in sales once the product become more result oriented.
It is, therefore, requested to make the arrangements inluding return fligt and accommodation in Turky. It would be great if you could make the preparation as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing fom you soon .
Kinds regards,
Ali Raza

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain your interest in working with pharmacists to improve medicine quality, describe continuing sales work by phone, and ask your manager to arrange travel and accommodation. The example about batch 1132 gives a relevant reason for the placement. However, the purpose is not always expressed clearly: “I am writing to grant permission” sounds as though you are approving the request rather than making it. The explanation of how your duties would be managed is also less developed than the reason for going; clarify whether you would handle calls remotely and how field visits or other responsibilities would be covered. A more direct, consistently polite request would make the letter’s purpose clearer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the opening states the request, the next paragraphs explain your reasons and work plan, and the final paragraph asks for assistance. Paragraphing supports this progression, and linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “Although,” and “In addition to this” help connect ideas. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some flexibility in linking, but a few connections feel mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although my work is to sale the products” does not clearly contrast with the proposed phone work, and “as a result” does not precisely show how working with doctors on call protects sales. Make these relationships explicit and use pronouns or references carefully so each idea follows naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the workplace and pharmaceutical context, including “therapeutic effect,” “batch number,” “doctors,” and “accommodation.” These choices help communicate the situation, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “extremly,” “priduced,” “achive,” and “fligt.” Some phrases are also unnatural or inaccurate: “grant permission” reverses the intended meaning, “work with pharmacist” is imprecise, and “my sale would not be disturbed” is not a natural way to describe maintaining sales. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for requests, remote work, and sales. The intended meaning is generally recoverable, but these errors limit clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because,” a concession beginning “Although,” and a relative clause in “medicine which is being…” This gives the letter some structural variety, and the main message is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, verb forms, and sentence patterns: “in good” needs a suitable noun or adjective construction, “work in company's head office” needs a possessive determiner, and “my work is to sale” uses an incorrect infinitive pattern. There are also tense and agreement problems in “once the product become.” Review article use, infinitives after “to,” and subject–verb agreement, then proofread punctuation and spacing to make the sentences more accurate.
