You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter

• explain why you want to work in the company's head office for six months
• say how your work could be done while you are away
• ask for his/her help in arranging it

Dear Manager,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to request an opportunity to work in the head office of our company for a few months. I believe this will help me improve my skills and knowledge.

Working at the head office will allow me to gain experience in my department. It will give me a chance to work with experienced people from different departments. I would gain advanced training that I can use at our branch once I am back. I am confident that this experience will benefit my career and our team.

While I am away, my work will not be compromised. Most of my work is already finished, and what is pending I can work on remotely. Also the work that needs my presence I will train one of my colleagues, who will take care of it.

I would be very grateful if you could support my request and arrange this opportunity for me. Also, your recommendation will boost my chances of getting the job.
