Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the reason for the request, proposing a work-from-home arrangement, and asking for assistance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and the tone is inconsistent. The explanation regarding the 'chartered accountant job' is slightly confusing in the context of an international company transfer, and the request for the manager's help is phrased in a way that sounds slightly demanding ('you should have to arrange') rather than professional. To improve, ensure the tone is consistently formal and the explanation of the work arrangement is more clearly articulated to reassure the manager of your continued productivity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or misused. For example, the transition 'along with this their organization is in America' is awkward, and the use of 'So' and 'Since' at the beginning of sentences is slightly informal. The logical flow between the reason for the request and the proposed work solution is present but could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would significantly enhance the flow of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural phrasing and word choice errors. Phrases like 'Greetings for the day!' and 'Please feel relax' are not standard in a formal business context. Additionally, 'I will physically absent' is grammatically incorrect and lacks the necessary verb. While the student attempts to communicate their needs, the range is limited, and the errors in collocation occasionally hinder the professional tone required for a letter to a manager.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Issues include missing verbs ('I will physically absent'), incorrect preposition usage ('go to there'), and awkward phrasing ('along with you can send me tasks'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs would be beneficial.
