Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining the reason for the request, proposing a solution for the workload, and asking for assistance. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of your ideas. While the purpose is clear, the explanation of how your work will be managed is somewhat vague and lacks professional detail. To improve, you should expand on your specific responsibilities and how you intend to maintain communication with your team while abroad. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal request, but the brevity prevents you from fully demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively in a professional context.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a formal letter. It is presented as a single block of text, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your ideas. While you use some cohesive devices like 'In addition to it', the flow is often interrupted by run-on sentences and a lack of punctuation. To improve, you should separate your introduction, the body paragraphs (one for each bullet point), and your closing into distinct paragraphs. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring each sentence is clearly separated by a full stop will significantly improve the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and professional tone required for a formal business letter. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'do my work', and there are minor errors in word choice, such as 'amenities' (which usually refers to facilities like a gym or pool) instead of 'opportunities' or 'support'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'dedecation' and 'disciple' (which means a follower, rather than 'discipline'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated business-related collocations and ensure your spelling is accurate, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

Your writing relies heavily on simple sentence structures and contains several grammatical errors that impact readability. There are frequent issues with run-on sentences, such as '...operate i can do the work online...', where a full stop or conjunction is needed to separate independent clauses. You also have errors in verb tense and subject-verb agreement, such as 'the resources you provide is amazing'. To improve, focus on using a mix of simple and complex sentences, and ensure you use correct punctuation to separate your thoughts. Proofreading for basic errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms will help you achieve a higher score.
