Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt: the reason for the request, the plan for managing work, and the request for assistance. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation of how work would be managed is quite vague ('I would manage my work remotely from home'), lacking specific details on how communication or deadlines would be handled. While the tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, the development of ideas could be more substantial to fully meet the requirements of a higher band. All parts of the task are addressed, but the depth of information provided is basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a basic use of cohesive devices, such as 'Now', 'I would', and 'I look forward to'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transitions could be smoother. The use of referencing is generally clear, though the overall structure feels a bit repetitive in its sentence construction. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, the body points, and the closing, which is a positive feature of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'doing fantastic great' (which is grammatically incorrect and stylistically inappropriate) and 'get chance to working'. The student relies on simple, high-frequency words. To achieve a higher score, the student should aim for more precise professional terminology, such as 'secondment' instead of 'working in the head office' or 'facilitate' instead of 'arranging it'. The current range is sufficient to convey meaning but does not demonstrate flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader, such as 'I am working with your company since last 5 years' (should be present perfect continuous: 'have been working'), 'I have acquire' (should be 'acquired'), and 'once I got this opportunity' (should be 'get'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. The errors do not completely impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score in this category.
