Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development is quite limited. The explanation for wanting to work at the head office is vague, and the plan for covering your workload is not clearly explained, relying on a friend rather than a professional handover process. Additionally, the request for accommodation is slightly unusual for a professional business letter. Because the response is under the 150-word minimum, there is a penalty applied to this criterion, as the ideas are not fully extended or supported to meet the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, such as the use of 'Eventually' to start a paragraph, which does not fit the context of the sentence. The transition between the request for the transfer and the request for accommodation is abrupt. While the reader can follow the general intent, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive structure of the sentences hinder the overall coherence of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'grab more information' and 'done my all things' are informal and lack the professional tone required for a letter to a manager. There is little attempt to use less common or more precise business-related vocabulary. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary restricts the ability to convey the request in a professional or persuasive manner. To improve, you should focus on using more formal collocations and business-appropriate terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('some of employees', 'she will be manage'), tense usage ('when i will go', 'when i will be there'), and sentence structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters for 'I' and the start of sentences. While the meaning is usually understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence structures prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors.
