Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points, but the development of ideas is quite limited. The explanation for wanting to work at the head office is brief, and the plan for managing current work is vague. Furthermore, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which prevents a full development of the task requirements. To improve, you should expand on the benefits of the transfer and provide more concrete details regarding how your responsibilities will be covered while you are away.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organised into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very basic and repetitive (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Secondly'). The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the overall flow is hindered by the brevity of the sentences. To achieve a higher band, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is functional but limited. You rely on simple phrasing such as 'some reasons' and 'make schedule'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions appropriate for a formal business letter. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'how other country employees seems the work'. To improve, focus on using more precise professional terminology and collocations related to business and international work environments.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing contains several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('employees seems') and awkward sentence structures ('I am going to inform you that i want'). The use of punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the capitalization of 'i'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of structures is limited to simple sentences. You should aim to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses or relative clauses, and pay closer attention to basic grammatical accuracy.
