Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the three bullet points, but the content is confusing and lacks clarity. While you mention wanting to work in the head office and ask for help, the explanation of how your work would be covered is vague and contradictory. For instance, you mention wanting to 'back my original post' while simultaneously asking to work in the head office. The purpose of the letter is not clearly communicated, making it difficult for the reader to understand your specific request. To improve, ensure your ideas are logically connected to the prompt's requirements and provide specific, coherent details rather than repetitive or unclear statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression of ideas is weak. The transition between the desire to work in the head office and the request for help is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'firstly' and 'secondly' without a clear flow of information. The referencing is also unclear; for example, it is difficult to follow what 'my work could be done before i am coming to old company' refers to. Improved use of linking words and clearer sentence structure would significantly enhance the readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic words like 'work', 'post', and 'enjoy'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'back my post' instead of 'return to my position' or 'arrange all setup'. Some phrases are non-standard, which hinders the professional tone required for a formal letter to a manager. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise business-related vocabulary and avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with verb tense, sentence fragments, and article usage (e.g., 'I am writing to letter', 'I have DONE my WORK FOR 6 MONTH', 'new new learns things'). The sentence structures are mostly simple and often lack correct punctuation, which makes the text difficult to follow. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the errors in basic grammar often impede the clarity of your message. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage will help improve your accuracy.
